Taylor began as a railroad town on the Blackland Prairie in 1876 and is marking its 150th year in 2026. Its historic downtown — Main Street, Heritage Square Park, and the Howard Theatre — sits a short walk from Murphy Park’s spring-fed lake, while Bull Branch winds through the city’s trail system and the San Gabriel River fills Granger Lake just to the northeast. Underneath nearly all of it lies deep black clay formed from the Taylor Marl, the geological formation that carries the town’s name.
Today Taylor is one of the most closely watched construction markets in Texas. Samsung’s semiconductor campus on the city’s southwest side has pulled new roads, rooftops, and suppliers east along US-79; the Samsung Highway now links FM 3349 and FM 973; neighborhoods like Castlewood are rising along FM 973; and Taylor’s Employment Center zoning is opening large tracts to office, flex, and industrial users. Every one of those projects needs commercial general contractors who understand expansive clay, utility extensions, and a city development process built for fast growth.
Aday & Associates already has work on the ground here: our team built the service building for Nyle Maxwell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Taylor on US-79. From our headquarters on County Road 122 — about 20 minutes west through Hutto — we’ve served eastern Williamson County since 2009, and we’re ready for the next generation of Taylor projects.
Every service we offer across Central Texas is available in Taylor and its ETJ — from a storefront renovation on Main Street to a supplier facility off the Samsung Highway. Bring us one piece of the project or the whole thing, from dirt to certificate of occupancy.
Taylor projects run the gamut — renovations behind historic Main Street storefronts, new retail and service buildings along US-79, and offices and shops for companies serving the Samsung campus. As your single point of contact, we hold the contracts, manage every trade, and work through City of Taylor Development Services permitting and inspections all the way to the certificate of occupancy. You get one accountable team from groundbreaking to grand opening.
Services include:
When a business needs to be up and running near the Samsung Highway fast, design-build lets architecture, engineering, and construction move together instead of one after another. It’s the same delivery method behind our award-winning Hutto Bible Church just down US-79. For Taylor owners, one contract means one team pricing the design as it develops — and far fewer surprises once the slab is poured.
Services include:
Big Taylor projects attract outside capital and out-of-town owners who need a local advocate on site. Our construction management service tracks cost, schedule, quality, and safety on your behalf, coordinates with your architect and engineers, and keeps every trade accountable — a valuable layer when contractors across eastern Williamson County are stretched by the Samsung build-out.
Services include:
Taylor’s land story is changing fast, from large Employment Center tracts near US-79 to infill lots downtown. We evaluate zoning, the Employment Center Plan approval step, utility capacity, drainage toward Bull Branch and other area creeks, and whether a site sits inside city limits or the Taylor ETJ — then build a realistic budget, schedule, and approvals roadmap before you commit.
Services include:
Our estimators price your drawings line by line, value-engineer where it counts, and map out long-lead procurement before the first shovel hits the ground. With Samsung’s expansion and its supplier projects competing for steel, electrical gear, and skilled trades across the US-79 corridor, early buyout and a realistic schedule are worth real money on a Taylor job.
Services include:
Taylor’s ground is textbook Blackland Prairie clay — deep, dark, and highly expansive. Our in-house crews handle clearing, grading, building pads, utility trenching, and concrete foundations with the moisture control and compaction testing this soil demands, plus storm drainage and erosion control that keep sediment out of Bull Branch and city streets.
Services include:
Geography & Soil
Taylor sits squarely on the Blackland Prairie, where Houston Black clay developed from the Taylor Marl formation. It’s some of the most expansive soil in Texas — it swells after rain and cracks open in summer — so commercial pads need moisture conditioning, tested compaction, and foundations engineered to the geotechnical report. The land is mostly flat to gently rolling, which makes drainage design critical; stormwater here finds its way to Bull Branch, the lake at Murphy Park, and ultimately the San Gabriel River basin that feeds Granger Lake.
Roads & Access
Our crews come in along US-79 from Round Rock through Hutto — the same corridor that carries Taylor’s growth. We know the routes that matter for commercial sites: SH-95 through town, FM 973 past Taylor High School and Castlewood, the Samsung Highway between FM 3349 and FM 973, and Carlos G. Parker Boulevard near Taylor Regional Park. We serve owners downtown, in the established east-side neighborhoods, and across the new subdivisions on Taylor’s southwest side.
Local Project Experience
Taylor’s commercial demand comes from several directions at once. Companies supplying Samsung’s Taylor campus need offices, warehouses, and service buildings close to the Samsung Highway. Large-format users are pursuing Employment Center sites along US-79 and SH-95. Retail and dealerships follow the rooftops — our Nyle Maxwell Taylor service building is one example — and downtown owners are reinvesting in historic buildings along Main Street near Heritage Square Park.
Permitting, Regulatory & Seasonal Factors
Commercial work inside the city runs through City of Taylor Development Services on Porter Street for zoning, site plans, building permits, and inspections. Land zoned Employment Center needs an approved Employment Center Plan before development, downtown projects carry Main Street historic district design considerations, and ETJ sites add Williamson County review. Privately funded projects over $50,000 also require TDLR accessibility registration. We schedule concrete pours around Taylor’s summer heat and earthwork around spring storms that can leave clay sites unworkable for days.
Our team built the service building at Nyle Maxwell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Taylor on US-79. We know what it takes to deliver a working commercial facility in Taylor — permits, utilities, Blackland clay, and all.
Our headquarters on County Road 122 is about 20 minutes west of downtown Taylor, so project managers and superintendents can be on your site quickly. We work across Williamson County every day and understand how Taylor, Hutto, and county review processes fit together.
President and CEO Temple Aday has led more than 200 Central Texas projects over 40+ years, including the Dell Diamond Home Run Porch and Intel Club. For Community Impact, our team built a state-of-the-art printing facility from the ground up in under a year — on time and below budget.
We self-perform dirtwork, concrete, and site utilities and pair them with general contracting, design-build, and construction management. On Taylor’s expansive clay, controlling the site work ourselves protects everything built on top of it.
Our Hutto Bible Church project won 1st Place in its category in American Buildings’ 2026 Excellence in Design Awards, and we were named Best of Round Rock 2025 in construction. We’re a family-owned firm with a 4.9-star Google rating, built on faith, family, loyalty, resiliency, and results.

Been on countless ADAY jobs in my 6 years of being an electrician. Never met a group of guys that care more on not just a professional level, but also on a personal level as well. I’ve worked closest with Darren, Jackson, and Austin. Great guys and they take a lot of pride in what they do. Can’t recommend them enough.Posted on Google![]()

The Aday family/team successfully built 5 standalone restaurant locations for us throughout Central Texas. They consistently go above and beyond with innovative value-engineering, introductions to gov't officials and community leaders, and consistently doing whatever it takes to expedite the process. Their subcontractors are top-notch and their longstanding relationships help to keep costs down. They are expert "problem solvers" and allow you to be as "hands on" or "hands off" as you'd like with their ability to handle design (both architect and civil) and permitting as well. Working with the Adays is like a long-term partnership, as they remain available 24/7 to advise/assist even years after your projects' completion. Highly recommend this family-owned and operated team for Construction, Design, and Permitting on projects of all sizes.Posted on Google![]()

A commercial general contractor runs your whole project as a single point of contact — coordinating design, permits with the City of Taylor, subcontractors, materials, scheduling, quality control, and closeout. Aday & Associates also self-performs dirtwork, concrete, and site utilities, which matters on Taylor’s expansive clay. You get one accountable team instead of juggling a dozen vendors.
Yes. We serve suppliers, service companies, and investors building along the Samsung Highway, FM 973, and the US-79 corridor around Samsung’s Taylor campus. These projects often need fast schedules, large building pads, and utility extensions, which our design-build, site work, and general contracting teams handle together. Tell us your target opening date and we’ll build the schedule backward from it.
Employment Center is a Taylor zoning category designed for major employers, manufacturers, and suppliers, and it allows a range of commercial and industrial uses. Before you can build on an Employment Center site, the city requires an approved Employment Center Plan, which adds a planning step to your schedule. Our planning and pre-construction team helps you account for that process before you buy land or finalize a design.
As a general guide, a 2,000–5,000 square foot tenant improvement may take 60–120 days from permit issuance, while a 10,000–25,000 square foot ground-up building typically takes 9–14 months including permitting. In Taylor, zoning steps such as an Employment Center Plan, utility extensions on newer sites, and trade availability during the Samsung build-out can affect the timeline. We factor all of it into a realistic schedule from day one.
Choose design-build if you want one team to handle design and construction under one contract — usually the fastest path to opening. Choose construction management if you already have an architect or contractor and want an independent owner’s advocate watching cost, schedule, and quality. Aday & Associates offers both, plus traditional general contracting, so we can recommend the right approach for your Taylor site.
Taylor sits on Houston Black clay, a highly expansive Blackland Prairie soil formed from the Taylor Marl. It swells when wet and shrinks when dry, which can crack slabs and stress a building if the pad isn’t prepared properly. We follow the geotechnical engineer’s recommendations for moisture conditioning, compaction testing, and foundation design, and our own crews control the site work before any concrete is poured.
Yes. We handle tenant improvements and renovations for commercial owners, including buildings in and around the Main Street district near Heritage Square Park. Downtown projects can involve older structures, tight access, and historic district design considerations, so we plan staging and coordinate with the City of Taylor early. Our goal is to keep neighboring businesses open and your project moving.
Projects inside city limits are permitted through City of Taylor Development Services, which reviews zoning changes, plats, site plans, and building permits and schedules inspections. Sites in the Taylor ETJ may also need Williamson County review. Privately funded commercial projects valued over $50,000 must be registered with TDLR for Texas Accessibility Standards review. We manage these submittals for you and build approval time into the schedule.
Whether you’re planning a supplier facility off the Samsung Highway, a storefront renovation on Main Street, or a new building along US-79, Aday & Associates is ready to help you build it right. Request your free consultation and estimate for your Taylor project, and our team will follow up within one business day. We serve all of Taylor, the Taylor ETJ, and the surrounding Williamson County communities.
